Admission requirements

The admission requirements are as follows:

  1. Each applicant must fulfill the following admission criteria:
    • Qualifying university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) with an above-average grade at an accredited university. Alternatively, a degree from an accredited program provided this degree is recognized as comparable by the Examination Committee. Preference will be given
    • Two years of related career experience,
    • English skills* on an advanced level.
  2. In individual cases the Admission Committee can allow exceptions to the requirement of an above-average grade detailed above. Affecting this decision are the degree to which the grade falls short, the grade on the final dissertation of ‘good’ or better, the length of time spent in completing the degree and an applicant’s exceptional individual achievements.
  3. Applicable career experience is normally documented through work experience in the educational sector or in development cooperation.
  4. Applicants who are not native speakers of English must demonstrate an advanced level of English skills*.

*English skills equivalent to the level C1 or at least to the level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) are required.

Fees & Application

The application period for the eigth intake consists of two rounds.
The first round is from March 1st to May 31st, 2018.
The second round is from June 1st to July 15th, 2018.
Please take note that those rounds are not consecutive steps of the application process but distinct application periods.
You can and need to only apply for one round.
Scholarships are only available for applicants of the first round.

Classes for the eigth intake will begin in October 2018.

Students take classes in attendance phases and online phases. The attendance phases take place in Ludwigsburg, Germany and Cairo, Egypt. The program runs for four to six semesters with attendance phases and online learning phases. The program is extra-occupational and allows students to continue to work while studying.

Fees are € 2.200,- per semester, plus enrollment and administrative fees of approx. € 230,- per semester.

Scholarships are available from the German Academic Exchange Service, DAAD and the Egyptian Al Alfi Foundation. Instructions on how to apply for scholarships are given after successful completion of the regular application procedure. Only students that are accepted into the program are eligible to apply for scholarships.
